FARUK KAHRAMAN
Mr. Faruk
Kahraman is the
resident senior
partner in
Southeast Europe.
In tenures as
principal,
corporate
executive and
board member in
international
financial and
private business
concerns for
almost
two
decades with
substantial
exposure to a
wide diversity
of strategies,
situations,
industries,
technologies,
geographies and
cultures, he
developed
invested in and
managed assets,
businesses and
partnerships in
Turkey, the US,
the UK,
Continental
Europe Southeast
Europe and the
Levant. He
specializes in
all major
classes of
alternative
investments
including
product
development and
special
situations
involving
strategic or
major management
and funding
arrangements.
The size of sign-offs
to date under
his direct
management
exceeds USD 1.0
billion. He
joined the firm
in 2004 and has
been overseeing
its operations
in Southeast
Europe, Caspian
and Levant ever
since.
Previously, he
worked for BNP
Paribas (formerly
TEB) Financial
Holdings Group
in Istanbul as
the founding
chief executive
of TEB Private
Capital Ltd and
also as a board
member at the
asset management
and new media
subsidiaries of
the same group
operating in
Turkey and
Europe. Under
his management,
the subsidiary
launched and
managed a series
of alternative
investment funds
in venture
capital and
private equity,
including a
global early
stage technology
fund and an OPIC
sponsored
private equity
fund dedicated
to Southeast
Europe. Prior to
TEB, he was with
Ernst & Young
and worked for
its Philadelphia
and Istanbul
Offices as a
professional in
ABAS, Special
and
Entrepreneurial
Services Groups
for over a
decade. Mr.
Kahraman is a
recognized
expert and
speaker of
certain note at
seminars and
conferences on
entrepreneurship,
survival models
and financing
structures for
mid-market
businesses,
major and
strategic debt
financings and
turnaround
situations. Mr.
Kahraman holds
double majors in
Humanities from
Istanbul
University, an
MBA from
Istanbul
University and
an M.A. in
Finance and
Accounting from
Marmara
University.
